Democracy Day

Standard

On Tuesday 20th January the BBC celebrated Democracy Day, which marked 750 years since the first ever parliament. We know that democracy is one of the most important British values. Click on the flag to find out more about how our government works!

We talked in Collective Worship about what democracy meant and decided it meant a group of people who could elect a leader and have free speech, just like we do with school council!

Do you think it’s a good thing that we live in a democracy?

What might happen if we couldn’t make our own choices and have free speech?

If you were elected as Prime Minister for the day, what would you change? Would other people agree with you?
